Fertilize Crops, Receive Rewards
How do you fertilize neighbors’ crops in FarmVille, the popular and highly addictive Facebook application enjoyed by millions of users every day?

The FarmVille Crop Whisperer is a brand new Ribbon acheivement, and it was added to the Facebook application yesterday. It replaces the retired Shutterbug Ribbon under the acheivements section. In order to attain
the yellow Crop Whisperer ribbon, a player must “fertilize 100 neighbor crops”. So how exactly does one fertilize crops on FarmVille? Here’s the scoop coupled with some important notes.

Bags of fertilizer are rewarded on a random basis to Farmville players who help their neighbors with various tasks, including pulling weeds and chasing away raccoons. Farmville users who receive fertilizer are awarded five bags at a time. To see if you’ve been awarded bags of fertilizer after assisting a neighbor, check near your fuel gauge for a blue and white icon.

Each Farmville player can potentially receive five bags of fertilizer, per neighbor, per day. However, note that there are no guarantees that any bags of fertilizer will be awarded to a single user at any time. If you don’t receive any bags after helping one neighbor, move on to another and keep trying.

Altruism is the name of the game when it comes to the crop whisperer ribbons. FarmVille players who find themselves rewarded with fertilizer can only use the gifts to fertilize their neighbors’ crops. The Farmville fertilizer cannot be used on your own crops.

Each bag of fertilizer will fertilize one plot of land. When a FarmVille crop has been fertilized, it will sparkle, and the produce planted in the plot will grow larger and reward extra coins as well as experience points when harvested by its owner.

FarmVille players who fertilize neighbors’ crops are rewarded with progress toward their Crop Whisperer achievement ribbons.

I’ve been rewarded with two sets of Fertilizer Bags thus far, and have an essential tip to pass on: Once you’ve received your 5 bags, it seems that you MUST use them as soon as they’re received. Once you click to another screen, the bags disappear and you won’t get them back. So, if you’re helping your neighbor Fred and you receive 5 bags of Farmville fertilizer, you MUST use it on Fred’s farm, at that very time. You can’t save the bags and use them for Tammy’s farm. Be careful!

Launched by Zynga in June of 2009, FarmVille is currently Facebook’s most popular application with more than 56 million active users, according to Inside Social Games’ October 1st posting. FarmVille beat out rival Farm Town, the third place finisher, by a staggering 32 million users. Crime game Mafia Wars came in second with 25 million users, but clearly, farming rules the day for more Facebook users.

There’s a reason FarmVille is so popular, after all: The regular new additions, including the special, limited edition Halloween stock, keep us coming back for more.

Author: Robin Montanye
Published: Nov 1, 2009

Making a Farmville game farm look like it has hills and valleys is a simple optical illusion, but one that is very impressive once it is mastered.

In the game loading page of the Farmville game are pictures of farms that look like they have hills and retaining walls. As most people understand, Farmville doesn’t have hills, so how is this look accomplished? Using fencing – a lot of fencing – a Farmville gamer can create an optical illusion to give their land even more height and depth to allow players to have that house on the hill that they’ve always wanted.

Establishing the Height of the Farmville Property Hill

To establish the height of the hill that is to be built, the gamer should start with a corner piece. Each hill should have a corner if the illusion is to be completed correctly.

Beginning at a place where the first corner will be, a piece of fence is placed using one of the fence posts as the bottom of the first wall. Immediately behind the fence, another piece of fence should be placed, so that the post on the same side as the first one lines up, vertically, with the first post.

So, the left-side post of fence number two should be directly in line with the left-side post with fence number one and one “click” back in the Farmville game grid. – see picture number two below. Continue in this manner until at least four pieces of fence have been placed. The illusion works best when the height is created with four to eight pieces of fence.

Completing the Corner of the Farmville Retaining Wall

With several fence pieces rotated once, the corner can be completed by lining up the right-side posts of the rotated fence pieces with the left-side posts of the original fences. This creates the illusion of the corner with some height – see picture number three below.

Creating the Farmville Hillside Illusion

More fence pieces can be aligned connecting them to the piece that were used to make a corner and more corners can be made using the same method. At the point where the last of the pieces are to be attached, the fence pieces should be tapered off so that they appear to be on the side of a hill. In the first row of fences, the top fence is left off, then in the next row, the top two pieces are left off and so on until there is only one piece of fencing being added to a row. This tapering effect illustrates how a retaining wall would look as it tapers down a hillside.

To complete the illusion – see picture number four below – a few pieces of fence can be placed, aligning the vertical posts, along an adjacent “hillside” to create the illusion of a complex hillside.

There are many ways to play Farmville and other online games such as this that add to the enjoyment that was intended by the original designers. With a little creativity and experimentation, it is possible to create a unique farm that is vastly different from the Farmville’s that are played by anyone else. There are also strategies that can be used to earn Farmville game money quickly and expanding Farmville game farms and on the Farmville site there are answers to questions that are frequently asked.

I am going to explain how to run your farm and get the most out of this game.

Each time you login to facebook, you receive notifications for each application which you are using, friend requests, gift requests, etc. Go to your home page first and start collecting and accepting either gifts or requests. You will automatically be asked if you have more pending gifts for whichever application you are using.

You may have to sell the gifts your friends give you in the early stages to gain some coins or fill out a free survey to get some coins. Always gift back, using the free gift option. Both Farm Ville and Mafia Wars have the option to select your friends who are using that application, but there is a limit each time you either request a friend to join you or send them a gift.

Also note that on every day on your first playing you receive a certain amount of coins in the daily raffle. You will be gifted a large amount of coins on completing certain levels and achievements.

When starting out on FarmVille, decide on how many plots you are going to have in order to plant seeds. Then use the plough (spelling this word the English U.K way or plow as it is in FarmVille) tool to create a grid. I personally prefer a ten by ten plot when starting out.

This gives you the chance to plant several types of seeds in each row:- one row of five raspberries, the next wheat, etc. As you progress through the levels you will unlock different crops that will give you more income in coins, likewise with buildings, animals and decorations.

Don’t forget to note down the grow time and return as and when appropriate to harvest your crops, whether it be two hours or three days for anything to be ready to harvest.

I tend to do things in an organised manner. On any given visit to my Farm, I will check first of all what crops are ready for harvesting. If none (unlikely) then I will check whatever animals are highlighted as being ready for collection of their eggs, milk, truffles, etc. Then I will move my mouse pointer over the trees to find out what (%) percentage their growth is, usually these having being gifted by friends who are playing the game, if they require harvesting then I will collect the coins in the process.

Next, I will visit my friends farms and do jobs for them on their farms and and when possible. All “Help” jobs give you 20 coins and 5 experience points, so do this as and when possible, the experience points always helping towards the next level.

Harvesting alone, does not gain you experience points. Ploughing and planting certain seeds does.

Always have goals:- what do you expect to achieve from your farm. Do you wish to organise your animals by creating a nice white wash fence enclosure, purchase a red barn, or a tractor to speed up ploughing. Do the math’s, using you desktop calculator or real world calculator, work out how much every action costs.

When you plough one plot of fallow land (land that has already been ploughed, had some seeds planted and harvested), it costs fifteen coins and gains you one experience point. Decide which seed or seeds will bring in the most coins. Some seeds give you more experience points when planting.

A tractor is an expensive luxury, but does making the ploughing quicker. Just as an example ploughing two plots of land costs 2 fuel, 30 coins gives you 2 experience points. The tractor fuel recharges eventually, but there is no clock counting down to when that will happen. So, you do not need to rush out and use cash to pay for petrol.

You could always specialise in selling livestock, just as farmers do in the real world.

Expanding your farm.

The ultimate goal is to be able to expand your farm, so you can plough more plots and plant more seeds, keep more animals and earn more money. To do this you need to add your friends. This is not always easy, especially if you have a limit number of friends who either a) don’t know how to use a computer or b) do not have a facebook account.

If you are in contact with say five family members, then all you need to do is ask them to sign up to facebook. If they are not handy with computers, then you will have to sign up for them, but do ask their permission.

Of course, it is entirely possible to create made up fictional family/friends on facebook. You will need hot mail Email accounts and plenty of imagination. The limit I have found is three hot mail accounts per day. Make sure you keep notes of your passwords and Email addresses. You will also have to create a date of birth If you use this route, then make sure you spend time filling out some of the profile so you can at the very least find the fictional family member by location. There are plenty of free Email service providers, so you are not necessarily restricted to hot mail accounts.

These fictional family/friends can be valuable assets and gift you items that you can sell when money is tight.

One other way of recruiting friends is to do a search for your old school friends. I typed in some names on the search option and sure enough, people who I knew some 20 years ago have accounts. I have rapidly expanded my Mafia, in Mafia Wars by clicking on the Mutual friends links when facebook make suggestions as to other people you may know. When I make contact with these people I always include a link to the game I am playing. I also have a photo on my wall so people may or may not recognise me. Farm Ville and Mafia Wars allow you to select from a list of friends playing the same game. In Pirates Rule the Caribbean, you have to recruit them from your friend list.

Games like these are incredibly addictive but at the same time they are great for children and adults alike. They teach logic and how to manage finance, how to think and plan ahead. I am currently playing three games or applications, this is my limit as if I started any more I simply wouldn’t get any work done!

I should add that these games are often in “Beta” or testing mode and are subject to change frequently. Just as an example when I first wrote this article, for one weekend only Zynga added Super Berries to the seed list. These you could buy cheaply and sell for 100 coins. I was raking the cash in and very happy, then suddenly they disappeared from the list and left us all wandering when and if they might return. I only found out that they were just there for one weekend by making a post on my wall and some one responded saying what had happened.

The makers of the game have now added a pet option. I think this is a waste of programming as all it seems to do is when you click on the animal and highlight the pet option, the animal just makes a noise. If they had made it so the animal had a limited increase in “harvest ready” time, then I could see the point.

I wish you every success with FarmVille.

38 year old, have been playing computer games for over 20 years.

FarmVille is a great place to go to escape the rigors of everyday life. You can get back to nature and enjoy the peace and tranquility that comes from working on the land. However, not everything in FarmVille is an escape from the ordinary. You still need money for just about everything you do. You have to buy the seeds to plant, and you’ll even have to pay a small sum for each plot of land you plow.

This Great Guide Teaches You All You Need to Know About Dominating The FarmVille Game – Click here to Instantly Download the FarmVille Ultimate Strategy Guide.

These costs are easily managed of course because you’re harvesting and selling your crops for more than it cost to plant them. There are a lot of other items you can buy in the FarmVille market to decorate and

How to Make the Most Money in FarmVille

build up your farm, and you won’t be able to get these without some significant sums of cash. Buying these items will also get you some much needed experience points to help you advance to the next level, so you’ll have to find a way to make sure you have enough money for all the discretionary items you want to buy.

Earnings Per Hour

Because you’ll be needing your coins for so much in FarmVille, you need to maximize the earning potential of your farm. The best way to do this is to figure out which crops pay out the most coins per hour. For example, strawberries sell for 35 coins per plot of land harvested and they take 4 hours to grow. Pumpkins, on the other hand, take 8 hours to grow and sell for 68 coins per plot of land harvested.

That means, for the same acreage planted, you’ll earn 8.75 coins per hour by planting strawberries, while the pumpkins will only get you 8.5 coins per hour. This may seem like a small difference, but these small amounts can add up fast. Of course, you won’t be getting your money’s worth unless you can harvest the crops as soon as they’re ready and immediately replant on that land.

A Quick Turnaround

If you’re not going to be able to get back to your farm for 8 hours, you’re much better off planting the pumpkins. The longer you leave a crop after it’s done maturing, the less you’ll be getting per hour once you harvest it. You can only make money fast on crops that mature quickly if you’re going to be able to harvest and replant as soon as they’re ready for sale. Make sure you take these details into consideration when you’re selecting your seeds at the Market, and you’ll be seeing your bank account swelling in no time.

Farmville is gaining more popularity with social gamers on Facebook. Zynga even claims that this is the fastest growing game they have had so far. Several players on my own friends list have commented on how addicting the game is. Let’s take a closer look at the game…

What is Farmville?

Farmville is a flash based game available on Facebook and designed by Zynga Social games. The game resembles other “Sims” type games with the object of this one being to, you guessed it, build a farm! Players earn coins by growing and harvesting crops and trees and collecting from various animals (eggs from chickens, milk from cows, etc.). Players also earn “money” every time they level up and money can be used to purchase items that aren’t available to purchase with coins. Players can also buy decorations (fences, hay bales, picnic tables, benches etc.), buildings (house, barns, tool sheds etc.), vehicles (tractor, harvester and seeder) and eventually you can purchase an upgrade to expand your farm.

How do you gain money, coins and items with Farmville?

There are only 2 ways to earn money on Farmville and that is by levelling up and buying it outright. Reaching new levels will also unlock new items to either send as gifts or to buy with coins. These can be seeds, decorations or buildings. Gifting is something you can do if you have other friends (known as neighbors) playing Farmville. You’re allowed to choose certain items to send as a free gift. Some of these items are available only as free gifts so the more neighbors you have, the better.

Farmville runs in real time so you have no choice but to wait the specified amount of time for the money making items to become available. Harvesting times of items range from a few hours to a few days.

What else is there to do in Farmville?

Other options in Farmville include helping your friends out by visiting their farms and doing chores which, in turn, gives you experience and coins. The best way to earn experience is by planting seeds and helping out friends and the best way to earn coins is by harvesting crops, harvesting trees and collecting from animals. It should be pointed out that harvesting trees and collecting from animals does not give you experience. You can also earn ribbons for performing different tasks. Each time you earn a ribbon you get bonus coins and a free item.

Farmville is still very new so it’s all a work in progress and new items and options are added frequently.

Surely you want to have the ultimate Farmville farm. To help get there faster read this article, check out the strategy guide, written by a Farmville expert, and sign up for the mailing list for updates.

Ok, before we begin its important to know that Farmville is a pretty big game. That being the case it’s important to keep learning all the time along your playing journey. The aim of this article is to give you some good Farmville strategies to kick start your game and have you growing the best crops and obtaining a good farm.

Ok, now that the boring stuff is out of the way lets get down to the good stuff, farmville strategy and tips to become a master farmer.

The first thing to remember is that farmville is a game about efficiency and strategy. Sure its fun to sit there and plow but if you aren’t growing your farm in the process whats the point right? You want your farm to grow quicker than your friends (or at least as quick so they don’t get away from you). Keeping this in mind for the first few days of playing you aren’t out to have the BEST farm, you are out to get the MOST efficient farm. Once you get on in the game, increase your levels and plot size then you can start to show off.

You want to plant things that grow quickly, and at the same time give you the most coins. At the time of this writing peas are a good choice because each time you harvest you make a profit of 176 coins, and they only take 1 day to get harvest ready. So start with those because from them on you can use those profits to grow more.

If you keep doing this religiously you’ll be able to jump up to around level 20. At that point you’ll have much more open to you and available. More crops and vehicles. It is not recommended that you purchase too many animals or vehicles at this stage. They look great but early in the game will cause you more trouble than theyre worth.

It’s like a business really, you want to start small with the highest amount of profit with the least amount of work. From then on you can reinvest your money to keep your farm growing at an exponential rate. Once you have millions of coins to play with (there are some players who have around 4 millions coins available to them) you can buy things like villas and barns that will impress your friends.

Also remember, when you start animals are not a good thing to do. They take up a lot of time and space and yield little if no rewards. You’ll learn to love animals and fill your farm with them. But be sure that you can afford it without breaking the bank.

If you use these strategies as the basis of Farmville you’ll be on your way to level 35 and beyond in absolutely no time.

Is it that time already? Like I said this article isn’t long enough to give you all of my top secret strategies (and believe me the ones I just gave you are only scratching the surface)

To learn everything I know just check out my full farmville strategy guide.

In it I give out top secret tips that only the best players at farmville know. Most of them won’t even share them! Anywayz, good luck in farming, to get started just check out my website here.

So FarmVille is an application on Facebook which allows you to have a virtual farm. You manage the runnings of the farm day to day by planting crops, reaping them, raring animals, etc.

At first, I really didn’t get this game and farming didn’t really appeal to me much, however, I gave in and decided to try it and it actually kills the boredom quite nicely. It’s very addicting as well and on several occasions throughout my day, I’ve found myself wondering if my crops are good enough to harvest yet.

Anyway, I found that with this game, coins were very easy to earn however the farm cash or dollars were not. They only awarded me one when I moved up a level or earned a ribbon or so. I wanted more.

Well, I’m happy to say I’ve found a way to earn or get more farm cash FREE.

While playing this game, I noticed the tab that said “Add Farm Coins & Cash”. I decided to click it, only to find that the same free offers that I’ve been doing for a while now on other sites and making REAL money online, are available on FarmVille. The only difference is that they pay you in Farm Cash instead of real money like I’m use to making.

I filled out a few of these free offers and I’m happy to say that I now own the Manor, the large pond, and the pink barn on FarmVille and I’m only on level 16.

Therefore I’ve spent a total of 116 Farm Cash (dollars) already that I’ve earned by completing these free offers.

Now for the interesting part.. I’m sure you want to know how to fill these offers out as well and if you have to spend any money. Well the answer is no, you do NOT need to spend any money to fill out these offers. There are several free ones, including quizzes or surveys, where you just fill out the entire thing and you are awarded farm cash free.

I have created a site that shows you how to do these free offers step by step to get or earn more farm cash on FarmVille free!

Happy Farming!

One of the newest updates on Farmville required that a player master lots of different crops. You see, due to the huge popularity of Farmville there are constant new challenges and features added to keep the top players on our A game. With things changing all the time its important to stay up to date.

The one thing that will always remain consistent to Farmville though is the idea of harvesting crops. That is the whole point of running a farm in the end right The best crops to grow are pretty much dictated by the level that you are on. If you are on a low level (say level 1 – 5) then you can only grow basic crops that yield little rewards. If however you are on a higher level (say level 30 – 70) then the world is pretty much your oyster and you can grow whatever the hell you want.

Its important to stick at your level and master it for you to advance in the game. Think of your Farm like a business. You wouldn’t go and blow all your savings buying new stock for your business if you didn’t have the time or the capital to back myself up. The same is true for Farmville farming.

So lets take a level 1 player, the crops you should stick to are wheat and strawberries and maybe eggplant (these are my favorite). They are relatively cheap to buy and profit margins are good.

Between level 2 and 10 you have access to the same crops as well as pumpkin seeds, artichokes and raspberries. I recommend once you have raspberries you utilize these, they can be very profitable.

Level 10 – 25 gives access to lots more crops like peppers, aloe vera and blueberries. Keep growing raspberries but also try aloe vera for high yielding crops.

Now you’re a serious player at level 25 – 35. Potatoes, carrots, coffee and corn are available now. Keep growing high return items from the lower levels. But when it comes to higher level crops make sure to grow the highest profit per hour. This will give you the most coins.

For higher level players, say 35 – 70 you won’t have access to new crops, what you must do then is it utilize the ones you already have to make even more coins. So keep growing your farm.

Some more crop growing tips

Now that you know which crops to grow, you need to know how to grow them as quickly and as efficiently as possible. To learn this and more you will need to visit my farmville tips website and gain access.

Warning though, not every will qualify for access as numbers are limited so be quick. I can’t give the secret out to everyone or it will lose its effectiveness and that wouldn’t be fair to everyone I already told.

So, hurry now and to check if you are still able to qualify just click here.
